Spalletti savours derby win

AS Roma coach Luciano Spalletti was delighted to see his side claim a morale-boosting 1-0 derby victory over deadly rivals Lazio.

Julio Baptista was the matchwinner for Spalletti's team, who had previously gone five league games without a win.

Spalletti beamed: "The key was we played with balance, strength, great character and scored an excellent goal. That's what made the difference in the end.

"I hope the worries are washed away and that the players realise from this kind of performance that they are capable of so much more.

"Unfortunately, when a doubt burrows its way into your consciousness, it feels like everything is going against you and that can become dangerous."
