Reports in Italy suggest crisis club AS Roma could be forced to sell several of their star players to offset rising debts.
Roma are only one point above the relegation zone after losing five of their first eight Serie A games of the season and La Stampa suggests Philippe Mexes and Alberto Aquilani could soon be heading out of the club.
The Giallorossi owe Unicredit bank 350million and, if they fail to qualify for next season's Champions League, seem certain to put their stars on the market.
The club made 29.5million from last term's run in Europe's most prestigious competition but in the current economic climate seem certain to announce a big loss this term.
Roma's next three fixtures all look difficult, with matches against Sampdoria, Chelsea and Juventus to look forward to.
