AS Roma have issued a statement confirming they have not received any official offers from potential investors to take over the club.
Recent speculation suggested American billionaire George Soros and the Arab Emirates royal family wanted to seal a takeover of the club, and Roma's share price has soared on Italy's stock exchange as a result.
However, a statement from the club's parent company, Italpetroli, said: "No offer has been formalised from any foreign individual or other individuals mentioned by the press.
"Italpetroli wishes to clarify that it has not received an offer from the Arab Emirates royal family and, unlike what has been written in the press, there are no contacts with representatives of that royal family in an aim to acquire the share package of AS Roma.
"Whatever choice should be made in the future with regards to the share package, it will be duly accounted, as has been the case in the past, considering the interests of AS Roma and its minority shareholders."
