Ranieri in no Roma contract rush
07 Sep 2010 - 14:46:36
Roma coach Claudio Ranieri insists he is in no rush to sign a new contract despite declaring his intention to remain in the Stadio Olimpico hot-seat.
Ranieri's current deal expires at the end of the current Serie A season and the experienced former Chelsea, Valencia, Fiorentina and Napoli boss has been mentioned as a possible new coach of the Italian national team.
"I have never thought about the Italy job because Rome is my city. There is a project at Roma and I am proud that the (owning) Sensi family made me a part of it," he declared.
"I want to continue this journey with Roma. There is no urgency for a new deal, but it will happen soon."
Ranieri is poised to celebrate his one-year anniversary in charge of the Giallorossi after replacing Luciano Spalletti in the hot-seat last September.
