Roma defender Philippe Mexes is not in line for a move to Chelsea, his agent has claimed.
The France international is a reported target for new Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti, with Ricardo Carvalho being touted as a possible makeweight in the deal.
But Olivier Joanneaux, who represents Mexes, has said that the player wants to see out the rest of his career in the Italian capital.
"Chelsea? Personally at least, I do not think there is any truth to it," Joanneuaux said.
"Is there any news in general regarding my client? Not as far as I know, or rather Roma want to keep the player who, in turn, is fully focused on the new season that is about to start."
Roma manager Luciano Spalletti will be desperate to keep the player, who is his key defender at the Stadio Olimpico.
He recently lost midfield lynchpin Alberto Aquilani to Liverpool, sparking fears there is a need to sell players at the club.
