Former AS Roma and Bayern Munich defender Samuel Kuffour has denied reports that he has decided to retire from professional football.
The 32-year-old Ghana defender was reported to have called time on his career earlier in the week following his failure to find a new club after being released by Roma at the end of last season.
But Kuffour claims he has made no such decision and is still keen to continue playing.
"I have not spoken to anyone about retiring," he said. "I am disappointed with the story that I have retired when no-one has spoken to me.
"I still have a lot of football left in me but I am not in a rush. I want to take my time, look around for the best offer but it is completely false that I have quit football.
"Having played at the highest level all these years I deserve a rest."
