De Rossi pledges Roma future

Roma midfield kingpin Daniele De Rossi has pledged his future to the club, with preliminary talks over a new contract having already taken place.

The 27-year-old Italy international continues to be linked with a move away from the Eternal City, with his current deal set to run out at the end of the coming campaign.

However, De Rossi told the Corriere dello Sport: "This isn't a subject that the club or myself have publicly spoken about. I don't like talking about these things on television or in the papers.

"My contract renewal is not a problem given that my president, who looks after these matters, has refused all offers for my services from other clubs.

"I will renew my contract when the other one expires - that seems only logical."
