Baptista keen on Roma move

Real Madrid striker Julio Baptista is interested in a move to AS Roma, according to his agent.

The Brazil international has been used sparingly during three seasons at the Bernabeu and even spent an entire campaign on loan at Arsenal after falling down the pecking order.

Last season, the 26-year-old was again a peripheral figure and reports have linked with former Sevilla star with a move to Italy where Roma are favourites to take him on a season-long loan with a view to a permanent transfer.

"The relationship between the two clubs is excellent," said agent Herminio Menendez.

"If Roma make us an offer for the Brazilian we are ready to take it into consideration."
