Barcelona defender Thomas Vermaelen has arrived in Italy to undergo a medical with Roma.
The 30-year-old centre-back looks set to call time on his unhappy spell with Barca by joining the Giallorossi, who have already signed his former Arsenal team-mate Wojciech Szczesny on a season-long loan deal.
Pictures published on the Serie A club's official website on Sunday afternoon confirmed Vermaelen had landed at Rome's Fiumicino airport.
The Belgian, who played for Ajax before switching to Arsenal, joined Barca for £15million in 2014 but despite signing a five-year contract he only managed to make 11 LaLiga appearances due to a succession of injuries.
