Real Madrid are favourites to beat Man City to long term target Danielle De Rossi with a potential bid for the midfielder coming as early as January.

TalkSPORT are reporting that Real Madrid will beat Man City to the signature of Italian midfielder and Roma stalwart Danielle De Rossi – with the player rumoured to be unhappy at Roma.

The Italian has spent his entire senior career at Roma – has seen his future in the capital under scrutiny following reports he has fallen out with manager Zdenek Zenman.

Although de Rossi recenetly signed a contract extension at the Stadio Olimpico last February – several clubs, most notable Manchester City and now Real Madrid are keen to try persuade the 29 year old his future lies out of Italy.

It has been reported that Bernabeu boss Jose Mourinho has been a big fan of De Rossi since his time of managing Inter in Serie A – and will make the midfielder his prime transfer target this January, if he can get rid of certain fringe players at Real Madrid.

De Rossi has said he is an admirer of English football – way back earlier this year in June. He told ESPN: “I have received many offers from England football, and I must say that I feel attraction for it – I like English football very much. I think now its probably more interesting than Italian football.”

Roberto Mancini has said that De Rossi “would be the perfect man to improve City”, but will disheartened by the news that Real Madrid are after his man.

The Italian signed a long term deal at his boy-hood club in February – but could leave the club due to his fall out with Zdenek Zeman. It is believed De Rossi would cost any side around £30-35million. A price that either club could afford.
