Enrique bemoans lack of pace

Roma coach Luis Enrique complained his side had lacked the speed they needed to win following their 3-2 reverse at home to AC Milan on Saturday.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored a brace and Alessandro Nesta added the third for the champions while Roma replied through Nicolas Burdisso and Bojan Krkic.

But despite seeing a lot of the ball and creating many attacking situations, Roma lacked a bit of punch up front.

"I never saw tonight the possibility of beating Milan," admitted Enrique.

"We had many shots at goal, more than them, but without the speed we needed in this match.

"Things went ok in the first part of the game and better in the second but there's still a lot of work to do to improve."

Enrique was particularly disappointed with his team's defending for Milan's second goal, in which the red sea of Roma shirts parted to allow the centre-back a free header from Robinho's corner.

"While tonight Burdisso scored with (Gianluca) Zambrotta hanging off his neck, Nesta seemed to have the freedom of his own house," added Enrique.

"I accept all the responsibility, I have to do better to make the team play better."
