Enrique aware of Roma's need for a victory

Having seen Inter Milan counterpart Gian Piero Gasperini fired on Wednesday, Roma coach Luis Enrique says his team must start winning when they host Siena on Thursday.

Gasperini was given the push after three defeats and a draw in his first four official matches (not including a defeat in the Italian Supercup against AC Milan).

Enrique's own record stands at two draws and two defeats in his four matches in charge so far, including elimination from the Europa League, and he knows he cannot afford another slip up against minnows Siena.

"We need a win. We have the perfect opportunity against Siena, the players feel they owe it to the fans," said Enrique.

"At the moment we're not scoring but I have no doubt that the goals will come, I'm sure my players will score a lot of goals.

"This is a moment we will overcome.

"We need a win (on Thursday) just as we will do on Sunday too."

And turning to Gasperini's plight, Spaniard Enrique admitted that the coaching game is a ruthless business.

"I'm disappointed for Gasperini but us coaches need results," he added, although he asked his employers and his club's fans to give him time.

"It's important to have a bit of patience. I know this is a difficult place to work and that this happens in all the big clubs.

"The Siena match will be a difficult one for us, we have to try to create as many chances as possible in attack but we have to be careful and the forwards also have to get back and help the defence.

"We'll have the same intention that we had in Milan (against Inter) and in our first matches, we want to control the game."
