Xavi urges Fabregas to join Barca
21 May 2010 - 10:11:15
Barcelona star Xavi has urged Cesc Fabregas to leave Arsenal for Spain this summer for the sake of his career.
Fabregas is wanted back at the Camp Nou this summer and is reported to have told Gunners boss Arsene Wenger that he wants to return to Spain after seven years in north London.
The 23-year-old has developed into one of the most complete midfielders during his time with Arsenal but his rise has coincided with a lack of on-pitch success for the club.
The Spain international has won just one FA Cup and one Community Shield during his time as a first-team regular and Xavi believes Fabregas must move this summer for the sake of his career.
"It is criminal for a player of Cesc's quality not to be winning the biggest prizes in football," said the Barcelona vice-captain.
"He really has no choice but to leave. He is making the right decision and I hope Arsenal fans wish him well."
