Carlo Ancelotti has compared Nicolas Anelka's style to the great Holland striker Marco van Basten. There is a debate raging in France as to the whether Anelka has the qualities to start at the tip of their forward three, but his Chelsea boss is in no doubt. Marc of a great: Nicolas Anelka has been compared to Holland striker Van Basten Ancelotti was quick to compare him to Van Basten 'for his elegance', adding: 'He's excellent when used deep. His speed hurts. He is very useful with his back to goal, and in front of goal he has composure and is effective.' Brazil coach Dunga has hit back at Jerome Valcke's criticisms. FIFA general secretary Valcke implied during a news conference that, in criticising the ball, Brazil were looking for excuses in case they failed to win the tournament. Dunga replied: 'All he (Valcke) has to do is play. If he plays he will have a different opinion. 'The guy has never gone on the pitch, never kicked a ball. The only thing he knows how to do is talk. Let's put him on the field to play, to come and train here with us, with this ball, and afterwards we can talk.' Brazil striker Luis Fabiano has described the ball as weird while goalkeeper Julio Cesar called it horrible and said it resembled a cheap ball bought in a supermarket. Dunga also hit out at the Brazilian media, saying: 'We've got 300 journalists here who don't want Brazil to win. They want to be able to say that I was lucky when we won the Copa America and the Confederations Cup.' Nelson Mandela met with South Africa's players yesterday - but there are fears that he will not be too frail to attend the tournament's opening game. South Africa's players sang 'Nelson Mandela there is no one like you' yesterday as he entered the room at his offices in the Johannesburg suburb of Houghton.
