Wigan boss Martinez urges his players to show spirit of Nadal and Federer against Arsenal

Roberto Martinez hopes his players can be inspired by Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer and cause a major cup upset against Arsenal in the Carling Cup on Tuesday night.

Martinez, desperate to lift morale in his squad following their 3-1 defeat by fellow strugglers West Ham, took his squad to see Federer beat Nadal in the ATP World Finals on Sunday.

Martinez said: 'It was inspiring to watch two of the most talented players in sport. It can inspire you to be a better, stronger individual.'

Defender Antolin Alcaraz returns from a one-match suspension, but Hugo Rodallega is still banned and on-loan Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley is not eligible to play.
