ENGLAND Adam Clayton, 20, Manchester City From playing with your mates at school to training with Robinho in the space of a couple of years isn't bad for the highly-rated midfielder who has been with the Citizens since he was seven. Adam Clayton City slicker: Adam Clayton (right) lines up against Uruguay Kieran Trippier, 19, Manchester City The solid right-back is another product of the successful system in place at City's Carrington academy. Won the Youth Cup last term and trains regularly with the first team. Andrew Tutte, 19, Manchester City City's skilful midfielder got on the scoresheet with a great header when they triumphed over Chelsea in the Youth Cup Final last season. Alex Nimely, 18, Manchester City The striker signed a four-year deal at Eastlands last year. He also rejected an offer to play for Liberia - he qualifies after being born in Monrovia - to play for England. Paul Marshall, 20, Manchester City The 6' 1" left-sided midfielder joined City's academy when he was 11 and has prospered after loan-spells at Blackpool and Port Vale. Febian Brandy, 20, Manchester United A formidable task awaits Brandy - finding a place in the United side that is hardly short of striking talent. Loan spells at Swansea and Hereford have given Brandy confidence and he bagged a brace on his Under-20s debut in August. Matthew James, 18, Manchester United Primarily a midfielder but can play in defence, James had a cracking season last year and was offered a pro contract in the summer. Jason Steele, 19, Middlesbrough Played centre-midfield for school but has taken up residency between the posts for 'Boro and England. Has represented his national side at all levels and, standing at 6' 3", the future looks bright for this northern lad. Febian Brandy Unlucky seven: Manchester United's Febian Brandy feels the force of a crunching tackle Josh Walker, 20, Middlesbrough A versatile midfielder who has already had quite a career. He has captained the Under-16 and 17 Three Lions teams and even scored against Bayern Munich while on loan with Aberdeen 18 months ago. Gary Gardner, 16, Aston Villa The teenage midfielder, and younger brother of team-mate Craig, had a very productive season in the Villa reserves last year, helping them to lift the Reserve League South title. Elliott Parish, 19, Aston Villa The goalkeeper is regarded as one of the major talents for the future by all at Bodymoor Heath. Michael Woods, 19, Chelsea The York-born midfielder has put the controversy of his move from Leeds to the capital behind him and is making great progress at Stamford Bridge. Made his debut as the Blues youngest ever player (16 years and 275 days old) in the FA Cup almost two years ago. The England wall blocks a shot by Uruguay's Jonathan Urretaviscaya Resistance is futile: The England wall blocks a shot by Uruguay's Jonathan Urretaviscaya, but the South Americans went on to win the Group D opener Nana Ofori-Twumasi, 19, Chelsea The right-back is a product of the Chelsea Youth Academy and into his third year full-time after turning pro in 2007. Gavin Hoyte, 19, Arsenal The Gunners reserve-team captain during the highly successful 2008-09 season. The pacy full-back is hoping to make progress into the first-team this season. Matthew Briggs, 18, Fulham Made his Cottagers debut even before he had sat his GCSEs. Briggs is a rangy centre-back that turned down Chelsea to join the youth side at their west London rivals, on the advice of his mum! Alex Tchuimeni-Nimely Heaven 17: Manchester City and England starlet Alex Tchuimeni-Nimely Sam Baldock, 20, MK Dons The striker not be playing at one of the more fancied clubs but 'Super Sam,' as he is known to Dons fans, missed the under-19's tournament earlier this year through injury but now has the chance to shine. Jordan Parkes, 20, Watford The right-footed full-back can play on either side of defence and is very much the modern defender who loves to get forward and overlap when he can. Martin Kelly, 19, Liverpool Kelly has had to fight every inch for his place in this squad after numerous injury set-backs hampered his development but the centre-back has been rewarded with a squad number in Rafa Benitez's Reds side this term. Jon Obika, 19, Tottenham A gifted striker who was Spurs' top youth academy scorer in the 2007-08 season. Made his full debut in the UEFA cup tie with Nijmegen and is currently in his second loan-spell at Yeovil. Mark Oxley, 19, Hull City The former Rotherham goalkeeper is into his second season with the Tigers after making a £150,000 switch to the KC Stadium. Highly rated but injury has affected his first-team opportunities.
