Werder Bremen have completed the signing of Serge Gnabry from Arsenal for an undisclosed fee.

The 21-year-old passed his medical on Wednesday morning after being released by Germany's under-21s to agree personal terms with the northern Germany club.

"I'm looking forward to my time in Bremen," Gnabry said on the Bundesliga club's website.

"It was important for me to come to a club who could give me the chance of getting some match practice.

"The management in Bremen have worked very hard on signing me and I am sure we can achieve something here."

Gnabry was presented at a press conference on Wednesday afternoon, where he said he was convinced that Bremen can challenge in the top half of the table.

Bremen's director of sport Frank Baumann reiterated once again that Gnabry is a Bremen player and that he has not joined them via Bayern Munich, contrary to speculation earlier in the week.

"Once again, Serge Gnabry is our player and we have bought him," Baumann said.

"There are no agreements with any other clubs."

Gnabry impressed at the Olympic Games this summer with six goals in as many appearances as Germany took the silver medal in Brazil.

He had not been getting a regular game for Arsenal, though, and was keen to make this move to start playing on a regular basis.
