Wenger rumours shock Cesc
05 Mar 2009 - 09:05:24
Spain international Cesc Fabregas has said that he will leave Arsenal if Arsene Wenger heads for the exit door at the Emirates Stadium.
The 21-year-old midfielder has been sidelined since before Christmas after having a knee operation and the Gunners have missed his creativity and guile in the last two-and-a-half months.
Such has been Arsenal's poor form that the team has been booed off the pitch recently, prompting speculation that Wenger could be heading out of the club.
Manchester City and Real Madrid continue to be linked with Fabregas, who told the Daily Mirror: "I have heard the rumours about Wenger leaving for the past three years.
"If he left the club then of course I would consider my own future and whether I would leave the club.
"I am happy at Arsenal and believe that we and Barcelona play the best football in Europe. But Wenger is a main part of that.
"I want to return by April and I still believe that we can finish in the top four and reach the Champions League.
"But to do that the squad has to be united and fight in every match as if it were a cup final."
