Wenger not scared to spend

Arsene Wenger has rubbished suggestions that he is afraid to spend big money to lure top players to Arsenal.
Speaking after seeing his side's title challenge end with defeat to Manchester United on Sunday and coming under fire for his transfer policy, Wenger claims he will splash the cash should he find a player he feels is worth the money.
To back up his claim, the Frenchman has pointed to his previous acquisitions of Jose Antonio Reyes (£10.5million) and Francis Jeffers (£8million).
Wenger's recruitment policy in recent seasons has focused on unearthing young talent from the around the world and slowly introducing them to first-team action.
But when asked if he would be scared of bringing a big-name player like Ronaldinho to the Emirates Stadium, he told the club's official website: "Scared of what? I would not be scared.
"We couldn't afford him now so we have to forget it.
"But the money (we have paid) is not comparable to what other teams have spent on players.
"For example with Reyes we got a big part back and for Jeffers a little part back.
"If we have the money, and I am convinced it is worth it, we will do it."
