Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger expects to sign at least one new player before the Premier League season kicks-off next month.
Wenger has seen the likes of midfield trio Mathieu Flamini, Alex Hleb and Gilberto Silva all leave the Emirates Stadium this summer, while striker Emmanuel Adebayor has been involved in a long-running transfer saga with AC Milan.
The Frenchman has brought France international Samir Nasri and Wales starlet Aaron Ramsey into the club already this summer and is reportedly interested in signing Russia's star of Euro 2008 Andrei Arshavin.
Aston Villa captain Gareth Barry has also been mentioned as a possible target for the Gunners.
But despite keeping his transfer plans close to his chest, Wenger said: "We had two departures (last week) but two players came in so, number wise, we are level.
He also suggested that in terms of new players, he would sign: "two maximum but one certainly".
Meanwhile, Wenger has reiterated his stance that Adebayor will remain at the club despite fresh reports that he is wanted by Barcelona.
"Adebayor is a player of Arsenal. I am very confident he will stay," he added.
