Wenger has Walcott doubts
06 Mar 2009 - 14:30:30
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has admitted he still has concerns over Theo Walcott's fitness following his return from shoulder surgery.
Walcott has been out of action since injuring his shoulder while on England duty back in November.
The 19-year-old forward is set to feature in Sunday's FA Cup fifth round clash with Burnley, but Wenger has conceded there are still question marks over his long-term fitness.
"It is very important to see how he will respond with his shoulder and I think he looks to be nearly there," said the Frenchman.
"To have him back is great and he can be very good for us. However, the difference between training and competition is different.
"Theo is very fit, but after that you have to get used to tackles and go into the challenges.
"You have to use your arms and shoulders to resist."
