Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger insists striker Emmanuel Adebayor will be a major player in his side's Champions League semi-final second leg clash with Manchester United.
The Togo international struggled in the 1-0 defeat in the first leg at Old Trafford, but Wenger believes that a slight injury and not a lack of commitment was to blame.
He told reporters: "I know and I can understand the criticism, but I watched carefully that game and he put a lot of effort in, more than people think.
"He was really isolated. We didn't give him enough support on the night.
"I believe that the fans questioned his commitment because he was injured and he hadn't scored as many goals.
"But look at his efficiency in the Champions League and it's impressive. He has scored six goals in eight games."
