Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that the club have agreed a deal to sign Legia Warsaw goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski this summer.
The 22-year-old is set to compete with Jens Lehmann for a starting spot with the Gunners, although Wenger views Fabianski as more of a long-term option.
He told the club's official website: "He will be our new goalkeeper. He will join us next year, be in the squad and compete for a position.
"He is one for the future. We have identified him as having all the qualities to challenge here and be one of the future great goalkeepers for Arsenal."
Fabianski's agent, Martin Wiesner, had earlier claimed that a deal was close at hand, saying: "We are very close to a deal with Arsenal, an agreement is there between both clubs.
"Lukasz has had three offers, one from Germany and one from another team. He is in a good position and we are close to a deal with Arsenal."
