Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed his interest in French defender Laurent Koscielny.
Wenger has made the centre of his defence a summer priority and the £8million-rated 24-year-old could be on his way to the Emirates Stadium from French Ligue 1 club Lorient.
Last week Koscielny welcomed reports that Wenger was keen to sign him.
"There has been an approach for Koscielny and there still is one," Wenger told The Sun.
At least one new central defender is needed by the Gunners as France pair William Gallas and Mikael Silvestre are both out of contract this summer and appear to be on their way out of the north London club.
Meanwhile, veteran centre-half Sol Campbell is also yet to put pen to paper on a new one-year contract and is reported to be interesting Celtic.
