Wenger won't rush Rosicky

Arsene Wenger remains bullish over the fact that he will not be pushed into rushing Tomas Rosicky back into the first team. The 28-year-old has endured a nightmare spell on the sidelines thanks to ongoing problems with his hamstring. However the Czech Republic international made his first Premier League appearance for 18 months when he came off the bench during the 4-2 defeat to Manchester City. Despite the loss the midfielder impressed in setting up Robin van Persie for the equaliser and then scoring himself for a late consolation in the dying moments. Despite starting for his country against San Marino in midweek Wenger insists he will be patient with his charge so as not to suffer another setback. "It is good to have Tomas back but he is not completely fit to play in top-level competition yet," he said. "He has quality. We know that. He is a top-class player and we have missed him for 18 months. "We have rushed him back before and he has had setbacks, so it is important to be patient and not put too much pressure on him." Wenger saw his side suffer their second straight Premier League defeat at Eastlands and even if the scoreline seemed a little harsh on the Gunners the Frenchman admits that his defence was a 'bit shaky'. "Manchester City negotiated the turning points a bit better than us," he added. "Defensively, we were a bit shaky and if you make mistakes at that level, you pay for it."
