Wenger wants tough but fair

// A bit of a hack but it works// The article snippet is wrapped onto a second line, even when #article-sub is emptyif( $("div#article-sub").children().length == 0 ) {$("div#article-sub").remove();} Arsene Wenger accepts tough tackling is part of English football but wants to see dangerous challenges cut out.[LNB] The Arsenal boss has been dealt a blow ahead of midweek exertions in the UEFA Champions League with the news that Theo Walcott is facing up to a month on the sidelines.[LNB]The flying winger suffered knee ligament damage during the Gunners' 3-1 victory over Birmingham on Saturday.[LNB]He was forced from the field following a hefty challenge from Blues defender Liam Ridgewell, which went unpunished.[LNB]Wenger accepts that there was little intent from the Birmingham man, but he feels a line needs to be drawn between what constitutes physical and what constitutes over exuberant.[LNB]"It is difficult to see any bad intention there, but still he went well through," said the Frenchman.[LNB]Committed"I think in the Premier League, you let more go and it is important to let more go than anywhere else in Europe because it makes the games more attractive.[LNB]"But you need to keep it going so that everybody plays with the right intention and you do not feel that there is any malice there.[LNB]"To get a committed game everybody has to play fair."[LNB]Wenger added: "I like the commitment of the English game. I think the superiority of the English game is down to that.[LNB]"Players have the feeling they improve in England because there is more commitment and you do not want to take that out of the game."[LNB]
