Arsene Wenger has hinted there is no agreement to let Cesc Fabregas leave next summer, claiming Arsenal are "not in a Cristiano Ronaldo place".[LNB] Barcelona have been chasing Fabregas for a number of seasons and looked certain to finally land the Spain midfielder this summer after another trophyless season for Arsenal.[LNB]Fabregas has since committed himself to the Gunners for the forthcoming season but it had been suggested that he may have been promised a move to the Nou Camp in a year's time.[LNB]It is believed Cristiano Ronaldo was given a similar promise by Manchester United 12 months ahead of his eventual move to Real Madrid but Wenger claims there is no such agreement with Fabregas. [LNB]"We are not in a Cristiano Ronaldo place," he said.[LNB]"Fabregas is one of our best players. We want him to stay and be focused.[LNB]"He will be our captain this season and I hope for many seasons to come."[LNB]Two more players likely to be heavily involved this season are Kieran Gibbs and Jack Wilshere - both called up to the latest England squad - and Wenger says the duo are looking "sharp".[LNB]"Kieran Gibbs is slowly coming back to his best. That is good news for us and for England I believe," Wenger told the club's official website.[LNB]"Walcott and Wilshere were a little jaded [against Legia], but overall they have had a very sharp pre-season campaign."[LNB]The Gunners completed their pre-season preparations with an astonishing 6-5 victory at Legia Warsaw and Wenger has been happy enough with his squad's progress ahead of the opening game at Liverpool next Sunday.[LNB].However, the Arsenal manager noted: "In pre-season it is important to play the way you want to play. You have to be detached from the result.[LNB]"We are just focused on the new season."[LNB]Andrey Arshavin did not travel to Poland as the Russian has a minor muscular problem, but is expected to be in consideration for the game at Anfield - where he scored all of Arsenal's goals in the 4-4 draw during April 2009 and netted again in last season's 2-1 away victory over the Reds.
