Wenger urges Gunners to believe

Arsene Wenger believes Arsenal have "a good chance" of winning the Premier League this season if they maintain a positive mental attitude.[LNB] The Gunners begin their quest for a first Premier League title since 2004 at Liverpool on Sunday, where they are likely to be without World Cup final duo Cesc Fabregas and Robin van Persie.[LNB]Since the 'Invincibles' swept all before them Arsenal have failed to turn their undoubted potential into silverware.[LNB]However, Wenger, out of contract in the summer, maintains the current crop have what it takes to get ahead of Chelsea and Manchester United.[LNB]"I believe we have a good chance. The most important thing is that we have that belief," he said.[LNB]"We finished third last season, so we have two stairs to climb and I am confident that we can do it."[LNB]Neither Fabregas nor Van Persie have been involved in pre-season and this week's international schedule has hardly helped matters, with Fabregas having to travel to Mexico, although Van Persie will not be involved for Holland against Ukraine.[LNB]Wenger will leave it as late as possible before deciding whether he has to rule the pair out of the Anfield trip.[LNB]"They are a lot behind," Wenger said on the club website.[LNB]"Cesc goes to Mexico so he will not be able to practise, and comes back on Thursday night or Friday, so we will have to see.[LNB]"I hope Van Persie will have a good week of preparation, but I think he will be short as well."
