Wenger to keep faith with formation

Arsene Wenger intends to stick with his fluid 4-3-3 formation which has underpinned Arsenal's impressive start to the new season - but maintains he has the personnel to switch things around should the going get tough. After watching his side open their Barclays Premier League campaign with 6-1 and 4-1 hammerings of Everton and Portsmouth, the Gunners boss concedes there seems little reason to tinker. "We have played a 4-3-3 formation early in the season and there are many benefits from it," he said. "But it is not a definite system - it can change in some games and I might move to a 4-4-2." He added: "At the start of the season, I wanted to play high up the pitch, making a threat in the opponents half early in the game. "We like to do that, because we are an attacking team and it gives us the opportunity to use our character."
