Wenger 'surprised' by Arsenal legend Vieira's proposed move to Man City
Arsene Wenger believes Manchester City will reap the rewards whenthey complete the loan signing of Patrick Vieira but admits he is'surprised' his former captain has opted for a move to Eastlands.[LNB]The out-of-favour Inter Milan midfielder will sign a six-month loandeal with the mega-rich club by the start of next week in a desperatebid to force his way into France's World Cup squad.[LNB]Vieria, 33, is expected to fly to Manchester andput pen to paper on the short-term loan, which carries the possibilityof an 18-month contract to follow if everything goes well for bothparties during his loan period.[LNB] On the ball: Vieira is desperate to leave Inter Milan before the World Cup[LNB]Wenger came close to re-signing his former skipper in the summer butdecided to keep faith with his young Guns, such as Aaron Ramsey andDenilson -a move which appears to have paid off, following the Gunners good runof form and emergence of Wales international Ramsey as a real contenderto Cesc Fabregas' midfield crown.[LNB]'I will respect Patrick forever for what he has done and what he hasachieved here,' Wenger said.
