Wenger reveals Walcott's worries

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger admits Theo Walcott is concerned about his World Cup prospects following his latest injury setback. Walcott is facing up to four weeks on the sidelines after damaging knee ligaments on Saturday against Birmingham City on his first start of the season. The winger had only just returned to action after missing the opening weeks of the campaign with a back problem, but was hurt in the first half against Birmingham following a challenge by Liam Ridgewell. He is now struggling to be fit for England's friendly against Brazil on 14th November as he looks to force his way back into Fabio Capello's squad. And, with the right-wing spot among the most fiercely contested positions in the squad, Walcott is fearing for his World Cup place, according to Wenger. "I believe Theo is worried about the World Cup, certainly, but I don't think there's any reason to worry now," Wenger said. "He will be in the squad. It's October and he has an injury of two-three weeks. I say four to be covered." Walcott has been hampered by a shoulder problem in the past, but Wenger does not believe the 20-year-old deserves to be labelled injury-prone. He added: "Theo is the type of player who controls the ball on the first touch. That is the biggest problem for strikers. When they are injured, will they continue to play like they did? "Theo has had two shoulder surgeries that were from a genetic weakness [from his father] but, for the rest, I don't believe he is injury-prone."
