Wenger refuses to rule out move for Cech

With his contract set to end at the end of the season Petr Cech has been given permission to talk to other clubs regarding his future after having become a deputy for first-choice Thibaut Courtois at Chelsea.

The keeper has been clear he wants to join a top club and be given plenty of first-team football after a season which has given him meagre opportunities between the sticks.

When pushed on the subject of a bid for Petr Cech the Gunners boss refused to rule out the interest but instead focused on the keepers he has at the Emirates. In David Ospina, Wojciech Szczesny and Damian Martinez, Wenger believes he has three world-class keepers to call on. Thierry Henry and Gary Neville beg to differ and believe a new keeper is vital if Arsenal are to challenge for the title next season:

“I don't deal in ifs,” he said. “We have three world-class keepers.”

It is true that two of his keepers are among the best when you look at the clean sheet table with Ospina in seventh with seven clean sheets from fifteen games and Martinez second with two out three. Cech meanwhile does lead the table with four from five games.
