Wenger: Problems can motivate Greece

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes Greece's financial problems could provide added motivation for their World Cup campaign.

The Frenchman thinks Greece can follow the example of Italy, who put aside a corruption scandal in their domestic game to win the title four years ago.

He told the Official Arsenal Magazine: "What you might say for Greece is that the political problems in their country at the moment might end up having a positive effect on their World Cup.

"It is a release for them - similar to Italy four years ago when they had their football scandal, they went on to win the World Cup.

"It's always down to the mental strengths of the players."
