Wenger: No news on Theo deal

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says Theo Walcott's contract situation remains unchanged, with the winger yet to agree terms on an extension.

Forward Walcott is still sidelined by the chest injury suffered while on international duty for England against San Marino and will miss Wednesday's Champions League visit of Schalke.

The 23-year-old has yet to extend his deal, which expires at the end of the season, with Juventus said to be one of the teams monitoring the situation.

Wenger said: "They [talks] are going on, but there is no news about that.

"My determination has always been the same, to extend his contract. That other clubs are interested or not, the determination is the same."

Like fellow winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and defender Kieran Gibbs, who pulled out of the England squad with a thigh injury, Walcott could come back into contention for the visit of bottom club QPR on Saturday.

The manager added: "The good news is that Theo had his first run today and is looking quite well, so he should be back shortly."
