Wenger has a moan, Clichy believes

Following Sunday's 2-0 loss which left the Gunners some nine points off the Premier League leaders, Wenger congratulated Chelsea on their efficiency but also claimed "we didn't get a demonstration of football".[LNB]Ballack responded by taunting Arsenal's inability to win big matches and to vary their tactics, declaring: "It is always the same style. If you play tactics like we did, you can beat them."[LNB]The Gunners host Liverpool on Wednesday night, but the fall-out from Sunday's match continued in Tuesday morning's pre-match press conference at London Colney.[LNB]Wenger said: "I would just like to say that I was full of compliments and praise for Chelsea after the game and I find it completely unfair from the press that you take one word of my press conference to turn it in a kind of probe every time.[LNB]"You did that at Villa (where Martin O'Neill lambasted Wenger for criticising his team's tactics), you did that at Chelsea and every time. If you look at the intent of my press conference it was positive towards the opponent.[LNB]"If you want, we can have a press conference and I can say nothing, don't worry.[LNB]"As for (Ballack's comments), I am long enough in England to know that the team who wins can say what they want. They are right.[LNB]"It is my job to take a distance from that and analyse the game in a calm way with a cool head and to analyse what is right."[LNB]Wenger added: "I have to live with all the conclusions that Chelsea are a much better side, but I believe what I believe."[LNB]Despite all of the criticism as his young team continue their quest for a first trophy since the 2005 FA Cup, Wenger will remain steadfast to his beliefs.[LNB]The Gunners boss declared: "There is only one way to play football - that is to win games and be efficient. The best way to win the games is the way which is most adapted to the qualities of your players and the philosophy of your club. That is what we try to be faithful to.[LNB]"You have to accept that when you lose games, the way you play is always questioned - what becomes a fantastic quality when you win, becomes a fantastic mistake when you lose. It is like that.[LNB]"We still have to believe in the way we do things, in the way we play and to show that strength."[LNB]Clichy, meanwhile, retains belief in Arsenal's title chances.[LNB]While many are writing off Arsenal's chances. Clichy insists the Gunners are still in the hunt.[LNB]"Let's work on it, next we play against a good side in Liverpool," said Clichy. [LNB]"It's going to be difficult but we have to do it because if we want to be the best, we have to compete. We have to think game after game and it starts with Liverpool. We have to think one game at a time but the less we lose, the better it will be.[LNB]"The rule in sport is when you want to be the best, after every defeat you have to ask the right questions to yourself and the team. You have to go again and dig in. That is what we are going to start doing again in training because it is only with hard work and a bit of luck that things can happen. Maybe then we can go somewhere."[LNB]Clichy admits the loss at Stamford Bridge on Sunday did hurt Arsenal.[LNB]"It is even more complicated now to win the league but we have to keep fighting," said the French full-back.[LNB]"We have seen everyone can drop points against anyone. Of course, it would have been better to win [against Chelsea] and against Manchester United, but that is the way it is. We need to be more decisive in the right moments and the best thing to do is to carry on fighting.[LNB]"It's not going to be easy, but it is not finished. We were 11 points behind [after Chelsea defeated Arsenal 3-0 in late November] and came back so we have to hope they drop points and make sure we don't drop any points."[LNB]Clichy also contradicted his manager, who insisted Arsenal played well at Chelsea despite the loss.[LNB]"You cannot say you played well when you lose 2-0 but we tried everything. We pushed hard but we lost and it is hard to take," he said.[LNB]"It is always difficult to play against Chelsea because even if you have the ball and you feel like you are playing better than them, they let you play but they have a strong striker up front in [Didier] Drogba, who can play alone for the 90 minutes."[LNB][LNB] Arsenal 11/10, Draw 12/5, Liverpool 5/2
