Wenger - Diving still an issue
Arsene Wenger claims Eduardo's successful appeal against a European ban will not end the diving debate.
The Arsenal striker has seen a two-game suspension overturned by Uefa, after the Gunners questioned the initial ruling.
Eduardo was punished for alleged 'simulation' during a UEFA Champions League qualifier against Celtic in August.
He has now been cleared of any wrongdoing, but his actions have reopened an issue which is set to run and run.
"We have to accept this case has been instructed by the media," said Wenger.
"We had appealed because we thought we were in the right.
"If Uefa had decided that Eduardo was suspended for four games, we would have accepted it. That was the gamble we took."
Wenger insisted: "People have to accept this does not change anything to do with diving at all.
"In this case, it was not clear enough to convict Eduardo, but we still have all together to fight against diving."
Wenger will now have Eduardo available for the start of the Champions League group stages, with the Gunners kicking off their campaign at Standard Liege on Wednesday.
With so many forward-thinking players currently sidelined for one reason or another, the Frenchman admits he is delighted to have received some good news.
"I am very happy we have Eduardo back because we have plenty of offensive players who are out," said Wenger.
"We have [Andrey] Arshavin, [Theo] Walcott, [Samir] Nasri and of course [Robin] Van Persie.
"Eduardo on top of that would have been too many strikers to have out.
"That is why I am very happy to have him back. It was a good surprise I must say."
