Wenger - Case closed on Ade

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger insists the Gunners have drawn a line under the Emmanuel Adebayor saga. Adebayor has littered the column inches this week after being hit with a three-match ban for stamping on Robin van Persie in Manchester City's 4-2 win over Arsenal last weekend. The Togo striker - who ditched the Emirates for Eastlands in a £25million summer move - also faces the threat of further punishment should the FA take a dim view of his controversial goal celebration during last Saturday's fixture. The melting pot has been stirred further on Friday with Gunners captain Cesc Fabregas claiming to be another victim of a bad challenge from the 25-year-old marksman during the same match. But Wenger, whose side host Wigan on Saturday, has called for an end to the Adebayor story. "We have to put that behind us now and focus on what is in front of us," said the Frenchman. "Personally I believe what is very important for us is to focus on tomorrow's game and forget all that happened last weekend. "Adebayor plays for Man City, he does not play for Arsenal anymore and I am here to speak about the players who play for our club and not those who do not anymore." Wenger feels his conscience is clear in respect of fulfilling his coaching philosophy when the powerful African was a key member of the Arsenal squad. He added: "In our job you accept that you give and do not expect any return, so you are never disappointed. "I feel my job is to give to people as much as I can and without expecting any return from that. "That is how I approach my job. In this case specifically, I do not feel I have done too badly."
