Wenger bemoans timing of break

The Gunners thrashed Blackburn 6-2 last weekend, making it six successive wins in all competitions. But this weekend's international schedule has halted their charge leaving Wenger frustrated. "The timing of this international break is bad but hopefully our players will come back without injuries," he told his club's official website. "I hope as well that we can get some players back [from injury] like Samir Nasri like Manuel Almunia and like Lukasz Fabianski during this break. "Looking back at the season so far, what has impressed me most is the quality of the attitude and the spirit, the quality of our team play and the fact that even when we had disappointing results, like at Manchester United and Manchester City, the quality was still there." Wenger, meanwhile, has told defender Armand Traore that he needs to bide him time as he looks to earn a first-team spot. Traore, who spent last season on loan at Portsmouth, has made just one Carling Cup appearance for the Gunners this term, but Wenger has asked him to be patient. "I've talked with the boss," Traore told his club's official website. "He says I need to work hard and be patient and that's what I'm going to do. "I played a good amount of first-team games at Portsmouth. I think I've learnt a lot and have improved. "But I will need to work on my positioning defensively because there's a lot of stuff I can improve on."
