Wales 0 Sweden 1: Toshack admits life's tough without injured Ramsey

Wales began life without Aaron Ramsey on Wednesday night - and this glimpse of the immediate future did not make pretty viewing. John Toshack admitted he had been forced back to the drawing board after losing the fulcrum of his team to an awful long-term injury at the weekend. But following this defeat to Sweden, plan B certainly needs some work. On target: Sweden's Johan Elmander scores the only goal of the game The Wales boss said: 'It was unfortunate for Aaron and we hope he makesa quick recovery. 'We felt we found his best position for us in thelast couple of games and then the injury happens. Message: Gareth Bale wears a t-shirt supporting his international team-mate 'What did we learn from this? We learned we want Aaron as back asquickly as possible. We have to plan without him as we can't rush himback.' He added: 'We've had the heart of our side ripped out with injuriesto key players and it showed. It's difficult then to get anycontinuity.' With Craig Bellamy's omission, Wales lacked pace and failed to carve out any clear chances against the giant Scandinavians. Sweden were unfortunate to be denied an opener when an offside flagwas harshly raised against Ola Toivonen. But Bolton's £8.2millionstriker Johan Elmander made the breakthrough on the stroke ofhalf-time, sending a fine volley across Boaz Myhill. Substitute Robert Earnshaw later forced goalkeeper Eddie Gustafssoninto a low save but it was Sweden who looked the more likely of twopoor teams to increase their lead  Ramsey injury is proof Arsenal need more protection from refs, says RosickyCrunch time: Aaron Ramsey's broken leg is a wake-up call for the game of painSportsmail looks at the stars who played again after horrific leg breaksMARTIN SAMUEL: How can so many broken legs be down to chance? .  Explore more:People:Johan Elmander, CRAIG BELLAMY, Robert Earnshaw, John Toshack, Gareth BalePlaces:Wales
