Arsenal forward Theo Walcott is determined to help England perform on the big stage during this summer's World Cup.[LNB] The Gunners wideman is expected to be named in Fabio Capello's 23-man squad for the South Africa tournament after a hit-and-miss campaign for the Gunners.[LNB]Walcott has previously starred for the Three Lions and his most notable performance came when he netted a hat-trick in a World Cup qualifier in Croatia in 2008.[LNB]He was a shock inclusion in Sven-Goran Eriksson's party for Germany 2006, although he did not make one single performance in the tournament.[LNB]Now 21, Walcott is hoping to make an impact this time around and hopes England can deliver for the fans.[LNB]"It's all about the big stage. Do it on the big stage which in previous years we haven't done," he told Sky Sports News.[LNB]"We just need to go one step further for the fans as well. They travel so far and at times get disappointed.[LNB]"So I don't care how we play as long as we get results - that's all that matters, everyone just remembers the champions.[LNB]"It's one of the biggest events of your career. You want to be known as playing in a World Cup and potentially winning it as well.[LNB]"Just getting the chance to play with them, getting the chance to see Wayne (Rooney) and the way he trains, he always wants to win.[LNB]"Same with Stevie (Gerrard) and all the players, but especially Wayne, he's one of those players that you want to be on your team."[LNB]Walcott has spent a long period of the season sidelined with injury and has only started 11 games for Arsenal as Arsene Wenger's men failed to mount a concerted challenge for the title.[LNB]The Gunners are on course for a third-place finish and Walcott concedes that the injury to star striker Robin van Persie was a major thorn in their side.[LNB]"People say if we had Robin we could have a bit more of a chance," he added.[LNB]"Players that came in, Nicklas Bendtner's done fantastically well, scoring goals, and that's what you get judged on.[LNB]"We've had a lot of defensive problems as well but the likes of Sol (Campbell) have come in and done a great job."
