Victor Wanyama has revealed that Arsene Wenger has been watching him and wants to sign him in the summer. The Southampton midfielder was the subject of interest when the player was at Celtic a couple of years ago and it seems that interest remains after the player has proved himself in the Premier League with the Saints.

Southampton paid Celtic a £12million fee to bring the player to the Premier League and Wanyama has now revealed that Arsenal have renewed their interest and that a move could be on the cards in the summer.

‘Wenger has been talking about me,’ he told the Sun.

‘He has let it be known he would like to sign me this summer.

Arsenal are a great club and I’d love to play Champions League football as I loved being on that stage with Celtic.

‘But we've had a fantastic season at Saints and I want to stay focused on helping the club qualify for Europe.

‘Then we’ll see where I end up in the summer.’

The report in the Metro thinks that Wanyama would cost £20million which they believe is still a bargain for the versatile player.

The 23-year-old defensive midfielder from Kenya joined Southampton in 2013 and has gone on to make 43 appearances and scored 3 goals. Wanyama is also a Kenyan international and has gained 31 caps for his country.
