Vermaelen injury blow for Gunners

Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen has been ruled out for "two to three weeks" after suffering a calf injury in the 2-1 defeat at Tottenham.[LNB] The Belgium international lasted just 19 minutes of the defeat at White Hart Lane before he had to be replaced.[LNB]Gunners boss Arsene Wenger told the Arsenal website: "Certainly it is a calf strain. (He will be out for) two to three weeks."[LNB]With William Gallas struggling with a calf injury it leaves the Gunners short at the back, with veteran duo Sol Campbell and Mikael Silvestre the central defensive pairing that finished the game against Spurs.
