Vermaelen draws no comfort from point

Cesc Fabregas gave Wenger's side the lead in their Champions League Group H match against AZ Alkmaar - but the Dutch side made Arsenal pay for missed chances when they levelled three minutes into injury-time through David Mendes Da Silva.[LNB]Defender Vermaelen said: "We were in control, there were no big chances for AZ but in the last minute they scored. It feels like a defeat.[LNB]"But when you are 1-0 in front you are not comfortable - it's always risky."[LNB]Arsenal had claims for a penalty turned down in the closing stages when Carlos Vela went down in the AZ area.[LNB]And Vermaelen added: "I think we should have had a penalty, from my point of view - but maybe I was too far away."[LNB]Gunners boss Wenger added on Sky Sports Xtra: "We are frustrated because we felt superior to this team.[LNB]"We had a good performance but we couldn't take our chances and got caught in the final minute.[LNB]"In the Champions League you need focus for 93 minutes - tonight we made one mistake and paid for it."[LNB][LNB]
