Twente's Sander Boschker joins... the calamity keepers! Five more clangers

Making his first - and possibly last - Champions League appearance, Sander Boschker will sadly have to re-live his air-kick when he tells his grandchildren about the time he played in Europe.[LNB] The Twente keeper's mistake gifted Tottenham their opening goal in the 3-3 draw in Holland on Tuesday night. But the 40-year-old is hardly the first man to make such a howler. [LNB]Here, Sportsmail looks back on five slip-ups that left the keeper red-faced and the ball slowly rolling into the back of the net... [LNB] Chin up, Sander - at least it's a funny story to tell the grandchildren about... Twente keeper Sander Boschker reacts after his howler against Spurs[LNB]Tim Flowers - Blackburn Rovers 2 Liverpool 3 (1996)    [LNB]Nothing went right for Blackburn during the 1995/96 season they attempted to defend their Premier League title. And Tim Flowers' howler against Liverpool seemed to sum up the whole campaign for every Rovers player as a weak effort casually flew over his head. [LNB]Stan Collymore's attempted drive from 25 yards was poor and rolled with hardly any power towards the keeper. But unlike Rovers' season it bounced up, hitting a divot that Flowers had made, giving him no time to react as it looped in, leaving Collymore who had turned away in disgust at his shot stunned. [LNB]Peter Enckelman - Birmingham 3-0 Aston Villa  (2002) Unfortunately for the Finn, his career would never quite recover as he picked one of the worse possible games to cement his place on every football bloopers dvd. [LNB]The fierce and often hostile second city derby between Aston Villa and Birmingham City was the backdrop, but in a cruel twist again for the keeper the goal should never have stood as he didn't touch the ball.[LNB] Villa defender Olof Mellberg's throw in was back towards his him but under no pressure he completely misjudged the bounce of the ball, before it crept into the bottom corner to give Birmingham a 2-0 lead. [LNB]It was those nights for Enckelman, who unlike during the goal showed great composure to ignore a pitch-invading Birmingham fan who provocatively gestured to his face after the incident.[LNB] Paul Robinson - Croatia 2-0 England (2006) Speaking of careers that never recovered, Robinson's Spurs and England career hit terminal decline after his air-kick against Croatia became a symbol of England's failure to qualify for Euro 2008. [LNB]With England chasing the game at 1-0 down in Zagreb, Gary Neville laid back a simple back-pass for Robinson to boot up-field - well that was the plan. Refusing to control it he went to kick it first time before the ball took a tiny unexpected bounce right at the moment Robinson was due to connect with his right foot, as it trickled past him into the back of the net. [LNB]Despite Scott Carson making a similar error of judgement which was even more costly in the return fixture at Wembley, it will be Robinson's blunder that most people remember from the disastrous campaign. [LNB]Fabien Barthez Arsenal 3-1 Manchester United (2001) [LNB]Making one blunder is bad enough, but to make two in one game against your closest title challengers is pretty unforgivable. With the game poised at 1-1 Barthez's first error was to slam a clearance straight at Thierry Henry, giving the Frenchman virtually an open goal to aim at to give Arsenal the lead. [LNB]It got worse five minutes later, after running from his line to claim a loose ball in the box Barthez looked clear favourite to take a routine take from Henry. [LNB]But somehow he managed to let it spill under him allowing his French compatriot to once again pick his spot to secure the three points and give the Gunners the momentum they needed to go on and win the title. [LNB]Jerzy Dudek Liverpool 1-2 Manchester United (2002) An error he would more than make up for come the Champions League final in 2005, but his co-ordination crisis came in one of the worst possible games - against bitter rivals Manchester United.[LNB] With the game goalless at Anfield, the Polish stopper attempted to claim a looping but simple Jamie Carragher header back-pass as he rushed out his goal to come and meet it. [LNB]Dudek only succeeded in somehow jumping over the ball before Diego Forlan pounced and to the visible horror of Dudek tapped home into an empty net. [LNB] Bring on Barca!
