Transfer news: Swansea receive no calls about Arsenal target Ashley Williams

Swansea City are adamant they have not received any approaches regarding captain Ashley Williams amid reports the centre-back is going to ask to leave. Speculation has suggested the centre-back wants to join Arsenal, while he has also been linked with Liverpool and Everton this summer. But Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins claims to have not had to respond to any contact from rival clubs regarding Williams. "While there seems to be constant speculation about Ashley Williams, I can honestly say that I have not had one call from anybody about him," Jenkins told the South Wales Evening Post. "There have been all sorts of stories in the press about what is happening with Ash but I have never heard anything from anyone." Williams was one of the best defenders in the Premier League last season to add to his already impressive reputation. But Capital One Cup winners Swansea are under no pressure to sell, having signed a three-year contract with the Wales international in 2012.
