6) ROBIN VAN PERSIE VS Charlton Athletic (Charlton Athletic 1-2 Arsenal, September 30, 2006)
2 years after signing from boyhood club Feyenoord, Van Persie enjoyed a hugely successful 2006-2007 Premier League Season, managing a strike rate of a goal every other game.
His best came in late September against a Charlton Athletic side that would eventually go on to be relegated that same season.
It was the end result of a flowing move with Gilberto Silva picking out Alexander Hleb on the far right hand side. Hleb weighted a perfect through ball through to Emmanuel Eboue in the right wing position who delivered for the on rushing Van Persie. The cross was above waist height but Van Persie was able to adjust his body quick enough to nip in, in front of the Charlton defender and drive into the back of the net.
