Thierry Henry has pedigree to manage Arsenal Arsène Wenger says

Henry, voted Arsenal's greatest ever player, has outlined his desire to return to the Emirates one day and, asked about that idea, Wenger said: "I can see that happening because I believe at some stage the legacy here has to go to some people who have had a big influence. I have to stop one day and maybe it will be me working with them." Wenger stressed that he was not specifically endorsing anyone as but acknowledged that, as well as other former Arsenal greats, Henry had qualities suited to management. "He loves the game, does he love to suffer? That's what he has to show as a manager," said Wenger. "I believe that Bould, Adams, Winterburn, Dixon; they can all be managers. Do they want to do it? That's what I meant when I said one of these people can be a follow-up. It's not necessarily Thierry Henry. "He's obsessed with football, yes. He watched our youth team on Arsenal TV last year. He did forge strong relationships with some of the younger players. All my former players have the attributes. "First of all. it has to be a choice of life. Being a manager is a sacrifice of the rest of your life. All my former players have the capability, but it's a choice of life with your family and the rest of your hobbies." Of the current players, Andrei Arshavin is closest to emulating Henry in breaking into the elite handful of the world's very best players. Wenger, though, went even further yesterday by arguing that the Russian could become an all-time football great. "I loved Arshavin because he has things that are just down to him," he said. "He's an intelligent player and he looks like he is a shrewd street player because he creates something always in unexpected situations. "I believe he has a big challenge in front of him because he made his team in Russia, St Petersburg win, and if he manages to make Arsenal win he will become an all-time great. I am convinced he has all the potential to do it. "I consider him a great player but people consider your qualities with trophies."
