With three days to go before the FA Cup final between Arsenal and Aston Villa, organisers had two tickets remaining. SO they did what any sane person would do in that situation – they sent them into space.
The tickets were attached to a balloon and launched from the centre circle at Wembley at 6am today, reaching the edge of the earth’s atmosphere at a height of 29km.

All the while, the FA was giving updates to the whereabouts of the tickets via Twitter using GPS signals – then, as they plummeted back down to earth, the scramble was on to find them.
They eventually landed in the village of Broad Oak in Kent and were found by Arsenal fan George Lamb.

These must be the most well-travelled FA Cup final tickets ever.
