Theo eyes bright Arsenal future

Theo Walcott believes Arsenal still have a bright future and need to move on following the sale of Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona.

Fabregas finally completed a move back to his boyhood club this week following a protracted transfer saga that has dragged on for more than a year.French midfielder Samir Nasri also appears to be on his way out of the Emirates, with Manchester City expected to complete a move for the 24-year-old this week. That has left the fans anxious about the club's chances of silverware this season, especially with the transfer window closing in two weeks.

However, former Southampton winger Walcott feels there is still enough quality in the squad to be successful and they are ready to get over the departure of Fabregas."We've just got to carry on. It's time to move on. He was a great player for the club but he's gone," said the 22-year-old."We still have some very talented players in the squad here and we believe we can achieve something this year."Walcott is also confident of the club progressing through to the Champions League knock-out stages after the winger scored the only goal in Tuesday night's first-leg win over Italian side Udinese at the Emirates.

"We're in a great position but it's far from over. We didn't finish it off but we dug in and gave absolutely everything. That's two clean sheets in a row now, and we're capable of winning over there," added Walcott."It was nice to get the goal. I want to get more goals this season."We're going to find it difficult over there but we're very happy with the result."
