THE INSIDER: Hamann could be heading for Hull, Wolves hunt down Halford and Villa boss O'Neill eyes

Simon Jones is Sportsmail's man on the inside of all the biggest (and littlest) transfer moves this summer. His column, published every weekday, offers an insight into the deals which will be done and those that won't - and why. A 5/5-rating means The Insider reckons it's a done deal; 0/5 means The Insider has his mortgage on it not happening. Don't miss your daily instalment of The Insider every weekday through the transfer window here at MailOnline.e Dietmar Hamann Manchester City to Hull City - The Insider says: 2/5 Hamann has offers from Germany with a handful of Bundesliga sides ready to give him one or two-year contracts. Yet he has been taking coaching courses over here and is keen to remain in England where Premier League clubs still offer better terms. Hull are interested in experienced players to go alongside some of their prospective young recruits and Manchester City midfielder Hamann is under consideration. Titus Bramble Wigan to Aston Villa - The Insider says: 2/5Villa are covering a lot of bases at the moment with inquiries for a couple of players with manager Martin O'Neill and his scouts busy finalising files on several. Centre half is a priority area with Sylvain Distin and David Wheater being considered. Bramble is another but Wigan do not want to sell. They fear moves for the likes of Paul Scharner and Lee Cattermole but don't want to leave manager Roberto Martinez facing a bigger task than he already does. Greg Halford Sunderland to Wolves - The Insider says: 4/5A £2million deal should go through today with the versatile Halford teaming up with Wolves boss Mick McCarthy. The 24-year-old has not had the best of times since he left Colchester in 2007 with rumoured off-field problems but he had an impressive return to form while on loan at Sheffield United last season. The Blades also wanted him but their offer fell short and Halford looks destined for a return to the Premier League. Andreas Ivanschitz Panathinaikos to Manchester City - The Insider says: 1/5Austrian playmaker Ivanschitz has been watched by a few Premier League clubs and almost joined Portsmouth last season. He has fallen out of favour with Henk Ten Cate and is keen to move to England but Manchester City are currently trailing players on a higher level. They did have an interest in Ivanschitz last year, as did Celtic, and he is more than capable of performing well in the Premier League but City is unlikely. Andre-Pierre Gignac Toulouse to Manchester United - The Insider says: 1/5The 24 goals Gignac scored last season propelled him into the spotlight after a season in the shadow of former strike partner Johan Elmander, now of Bolton. He has been watched by Arsenal, Tottenham, Villa and Blackburn but Toulouse now want big money for a man they paid only £4m for two years ago. Lyon, armed with cash from Karim Benzema's sale to Real Madrid, are ready to part with around £16m to sign him. United are aware of him but have concerns over whether he is good enough.
